Note:  this piece was first written in 2009.  Now some additions have been made to reflect the stay at home work due to the Pandemic.  Then and Now Reflections.

THEN & NOW
Getting out of your pajamas (or sweats), Out-of-the-house, and away from your laptop is essential for your mental, emotional and spiritual well-being, especially when in job transition.

THEN
In speaking with you at our free Career Mojo and On-Hold Elite events, you have shared with us some very interesting and creative ways to get out of your pajamas, out of the house and back into a routine. Suggestions range from organizing group walking tours of your city to weekly coffee shop gatherings to industry specific networking events. One recent attendee shared how she devised new ways to explore the city by searching for particular vegetables or fruits in unexplored neighborhoods. Choosing a different vegetable and vendor each day, introduced her to new people outside of her neighborhood and was healthy and lots of fun. Volunteering and participating in internships will also keep you active, engaged, exposed and top of mind when the job market does open.

NOW
In speaking with you via zoom, you have shared with me some very interesting and creative ways to get out of your pajamas, to work at home and back into a routine. Suggestions range from virtual: walking tours of many cities, museums and state parks, on-line coffee and wine get-togethers. Free on-line classes/learning, work out classes, meditation groups, sing and dance-alongs, to name a few.

Let us know what you have done to promote getting out of your pajamas, sweats, and flip flops, away from your laptops to unwind, and using your laptops to network and connect with friends, family, work and potential work opportunities to create an on-line presence?
