Career Readiness is a lifelong process, not a short sprint.  The reoccurring themes throughout this process include:

  • Creating YOUR career
  • Maintaining YOUR career
  • Building YOUR career
  • Changing YOUR career
  • Reinventing YOUR career

I have some experience to speak to this topic because I have transitioned thus far, 8 times.  What I have learned is “there will never be anyone more interested in your career, than you”.

Career readiness has proven valuable at each transition.  You begin by proactively setting a script for each transition throughout:

  • Committing to self-assessment
  • Looking beyond today
  • Embracing “continuous improvement”
  • Being flexible (by building a wide range of skills and experience)
  • Being kind to yourself (in the words of Mahatma Gandhi, “There is more to life than increasing its speed”)
